ESTROPATADA 2024 RULES

• This random combination competition with the name ESTROPATADA is carried out by The Walk On Project Foundation (hereinafter The FOUNDATION) with CIF G95730651 and address in Bilbao, Avda. Lehendakari Aguirre 151-At street level.
• Participation in the competition implies acceptance of these conditions.
• Entry to participate in the promotion will close on all participation channels on the day prior to the event. There is no prior limit on the number of entries.

Participation in the Estropatada

• Both individuals and legal entities may participate in the competition.
• Entitlement to participate is given by making a donation of 5€ to the FOUNDATION within the framework of this promotion and for the development of its foundational purposes in the search for therapies against neurodegenerative diseases, dissemination of the reality of these pathologies and creation of social awareness in favor of research and science. These donations, eligible for participation in the ESTROPATADA, will be made through the channels provided in the promotion and published on the website and always associated with a participation or number of “WOPato” (rubber ducks have been eliminated and the race will be made with biodegradable elements, hereinafter “elements”). Only official channels and official tickets entitle to participate in the ESTROPATADA.
• The channels foreseen for participation are the physical acquisition of participations in stores and other points of sale published on the promotion’s WEB page (https://www.estropatada.com). The FOUNDATION will only accept as valid the official participations acquired through these channels.
• The participant, in exchange for his donation of 5€ within the framework of the promotion, receives a ticket with his WOPato number. It is a unique number of participation that is associated with an identifier of the element of the race (the identifier will be engraved on a RFID TAG attached to a single element participating in the ESTROPATADA). The ticket entitles participation in the ESTROPATADA with its specified WOPato number but does not entitle to a physical WOPato. Notwithstanding the above, participants will be able, after the race and until 20:00h of that day, at a specific official stand placed next to the finish line of the activity, to exchange their ticket for a souvenir rubber duck (while stocks last). Likewise, from the day of the Estropatada, the ticket can be exchanged for the souvenir during the month following the end of the race.
• All entries may be subject to verification by The FOUNDATION. Only valid and official entries will entitle the participant to participate in the ESTROPATADA and to win prizes in case of winning.
• The FOUNDATION may, at its sole discretion, declare any entry invalid if the entrant:
  • I. You do not prove your right to participate in the ESTROPATADA by presenting a valid official entry.
  • II. You have an illegible, stolen, forged, counterfeited, altered, incomplete or modified in any way that does not allow complete verification of its validity.
  • III. Manipulates in any way the STRIP for the benefit of its participation.

Development of the Estropatada race

• The race of the XII ESTROPATADA will be held on October 6, 2024 in Bilbao. Both the date and the final route as well as the specific time of celebration will be published on the WEB page (www.estropatada.com) and the communication channels of the FOUNDATION and the Estropatada (WEB page, social networks, etc.). The FOUNDATION may change the date of celebration of the race if reasons of force majeure, serious or beyond its control make the celebration on the scheduled day can not be carried out or could pose a significant risk to attendees, the environment or any reason that does not allow the correct and safe course of the race with guarantees for participants. The change of date will be announced through the communication channels of the Foundation. In the event that it is not possible to carry out the traditional Estropatada, the organization undertakes to carry out the drawing of the prizes by traditional means of drawing numbers from a drum.
• The FOUNDATION will identify each element participating in the race with a unique and official RFID TAG corresponding to an acquired participation number. This TAG will be attached to an element. Only the force of the current will move the biodegradable elements of the race towards the finish line. As many RFID TAGs will be manufactured as many participations purchased and with their corresponding numbers. All these RFID TAGs will be attached to an element.
• The FOUNDATION will place sufficient mechanical and electronic means to ensure the order of arrival of the elements of the race entitled to a prize.

Notification of winners

• The list of the winning WOPatos numbers will be published on the ESTROPATADA WEB page (https://www.estropatada.com) on the same day of the race and will remain published for one month from that day.
• To be eligible for the prize, winners must submit a valid entry and must accept and sign a form agreeing to the conditions and requirements for accepting the prize, and a disclaimer in favor of The FOUNDATION and/or any person or entity related to this competition. Winners who do not comply with this condition will forfeit their prize.

General

• If for any reason the development or operation of the race is interfered with or interrupted (by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, civil disturbances, strikes, computer errors or viruses, alteration or technical failures beyond the responsibility of The FOUNDATION), the Organization reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or resume the competition, subject to the approval of the authorities that have issued permits for its execution.
• The Organizer assumes no responsibility for:
  • I. Any error, omission, interruption or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication sent to (or by) the Organizer to any participant whether caused by problems with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or Internet service providers, congestion in any operator’s network or other technical reasons beyond the FOUNDATION’s control.
  • II. Any theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, such communications.
  • III. Any problem or technical malfunction of any computer system or other equipment used for the development of the competition.
• CAUTION: Any attempt to damage the website or information on the website associated with this promotion or otherwise impair the fair and lawful operation of this promotion may constitute a violation of criminal and civil laws. The promoter reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law in the event that such an attempt is made.
• The FOUNDATION is not responsible for any tax obligations incurred by prize winners, being their sole responsibility to comply with them as part of the conditions of acceptance of the corresponding prize.

Legal basis

• The ESTROPATADA is a random combination in accordance with the Order of September 2, 1991, of the Minister of the Interior of the Basque Government (B.O.P.V. of September 13, no. 185), responsible declaration presented by the FOUNDATION to the competent administration.
